I have worked as a consultant hydrogeologist in Australia and the UK since 2002, providing advice and information to private industry, government, and water authorities. I have a strong background in numerical and conceptual hydrogeological model development, and applied data analysis. I have delivered and contributed to projects relating to: • Environmental Impact Assessment: road, rail, water supply, mining, water and waste infrastructure; • Groundwater resource management: sustainable yield assessment, integrated catchment water balances, system understanding, optimal water use location mapping, climate change effects on groundwater and surface water systems; • Mine / quarry operation and closure, e.g.: pit lake formation, behaviour and effects; underground and open cut mines and their effects on aquifer properties, other water users, and land subsidence; • Contaminant / solute / heat fate and transport modelling: contaminated land, waste water treatment plant, and Managed Aquifer Recharge schemes; • Low-grade geothermal modelling;• Groundwater-surface water interactions: integrated numerical modelling, baseflow estimation using tracers, mapping; • Hydrogeological mapping; • Risk assessment and mapping: Groundwater Dependent Ecosystems, land use change;• Uncertainty analysis of numerical and empirical models;• Observation ‘data worth’ analysis and mapping using numerical models;• Modelling and mapping of aquifer properties, including structural controls and anisotropy.
