Chartwell Marine is a Naval Architectural consultancy business which supports boat builders and vessel operators worldwide. Chartwell Marine has enjoyed plenty of success in it's first few years and I'm really excited to join the team as it continues to grow and develop new and innovative design solutions for the marine industry.

I joined BMT in 2017 as a Naval Architect gaining a variety of experience on both commercial and large yacht projects. Two years into my time at BMT I was promoted to the role of Technical Lead to become more involved in the on-going and new commercial projects. This role meant more involvement in all the design departments within BMT ensuring projects where delivered in a timely manner and to the client's satisfaction.

After South Boats Special Projects where bought by Alicat Workboats a few members of the South Boats design team have now moved to Romsey! We continue to work closely with both South Boats IOW and Alicat Workboats while also doing design and project management consultancy for other firms!

Included working for the RYA and RS sailing coaching children in the squad systems and adults just looking to improve there racing.

My current role requires writing stability booklets for both DNV and Non DNV vessels as well as carrying out lightship surveys. I have worked very closely with DNV making sure drawings are up to standard and comply with all the rules. This has also involved surveying vessels with the DNV surveyor to make sure the fabrication is complying with the rules while still building each component as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. I believe I have a very solid understanding of the current WFSV rules.

Involved being placed on stands at shows and sell and promote gill products. Involved constant stock control and talking directly with customers.
