• As acting Director of Product M&D oversee a $300M division at QEP with over 5,000 SKU’s of flooring installation tools & related products to major retailers & distributors domestically & internationally. • Mentor and develop 4 direct reports. (3 Product Managers, 1 Product Specialist)• In depth understanding of manufacturing & production processes & procedures from initial design & prototyping to full production runs. (Plastic Injection Molding, Cut & Sew, Metal Stamping) • Extensive domestic & international travel working on-site with suppliers at production level to optimize production lines & establish best practices.• Establish & maintain strategic corporate relationship/partnerships with suppliers/vendors both domestic & international. (Mexico, Peru, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Spain, Portugal, Canada, USA)• Negotiate domestic & international supplier agreements. • Conduct & lead new product testing in collaboration with supplier/vendors.• Develop comprehensive & strategic product lines ranging from a single product to 150+ products with multiple patented and patent pending products. • Complete cost evaluations and analysis that enables QEP to execute profitable business plans & expand retail/distribution presence both on shelf & promotional. (Short 1-2yrs & Long Term 3-5yrs)• Analyze key product cost metrics, including product/category productivity, product trends, margin rates, & inventory status to provide data-based recommendations.• Partner with space planning, pricing, inventory planning, & various cross-functional teams for the placement & launch of newly developed product into major home center retailers.
