I have 14 years of experience in the design of inertial sensors, specifically in the field of gyroscopes with a Ph.D in silicon micromachined gyroscope design in particular. I am interested in a career in sensor design from either the genesis of new sensor concepts and/or the continued improvement of an existing sensor line.I have worked primarily in the design of micromachined quartz and silicon gyroscopes, but have also designed miniaturized dynamically tuned gyroscopes for military and commercial applications. I am comfortable with carrying out every aspect of the sensor design and implementation process from the paper analytical feasibility studies and finite element modeling to fabrication process development and fixture design to testing and specification documentation. I have built on my own control circuitry for sensors and have done ASIC digital and analog control implementations.I am a fast learner and have, for example, taught myself Visual Basic in one month to code a GUI for a GPIB driven DSA and Multimeter based test platform that is still used in our production line to this day.

Senior Design EngineerSystron Donner Inertial Jan 2009 - Jun 2014At present, my work encompasses design of quartz gyroscope sensors, package design, and IMU test engineering. The gyroscope design involves ANSYS simulation of the sensor element, mask design using L-Edit, and coordination of the sensor fabrication with our fabrication engineers. My most recent project was the design of a ceramic package for the quartz gyroscope sensor. I designed the package using PADS and Pro-E and coordinated the fabrication of the package with a 3rd party ceramic vendor. In addition to the package design, I have become involved in the IMU testing and I help setup tests, coordinate the testing with technicians, and interpret the data through AV and FFT analysis.
