With over 20 years of work experience in various fields, I am a passionate and versatile professional who strives to make a positive impact on the lives of others. As an Outreach Specialist at SJU Center for Addiction and Recovery Education, I am dedicated to educating and empowering first responders on how to approach and connect with people who have substance use disorder. I believe that by providing compassionate and evidence-based training, I can help reduce stigma, increase access to treatment, and improve outcomes for individuals and communities affected by addiction.In my current role, I am responsible for developing and delivering a peer to peer training program that teaches first responders how to use motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and recovery support strategies when interacting with people who have substance use disorder. I also conduct outreach to various departments statewide to discuss the benefits and logistics of the program and training for their employees. Additionally, I leverage my skills in sales, insurance, and law enforcement to build and maintain relationships with potential and existing partners. Through my work, I have contributed to the success and growth of the program, reaching over 7000 first responders and facilitating over 100 referrals to treatment services.
