I am retired! I formerly managed clinical investigations and clinical quality reporting for the Heart and Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic. We use data generated during and after the normal delivery of health care to conduct observational clinical research, provide quality feedback to physicians and administrators, and report case volumes and quality metrics to local and national registries. Given the importance of accurate, curated clinical data for these activities, we also work on the development of new tools for managing, retrieving, and analyzing data. Prior to my involvement in health care, I spent 20+ years as an archaeologist. My archaeological research covers a variety of topics including the application of Darwinian theory to the explanation of cultural variation and change, the development and application of scientific methods for learning about the human past from material remains, and the study of prehistoric and early historic societies of western North America, particularly the southwestern United States.Specialties: research, ontological and data modeling, strategic analysis and design, process improvement, project management, creative thinking and leadership
