I am currently pursuing a PhD in inorganic chemistry as a first year graduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles. I have a passion for sustainability and believe that chemistry is the first step towards meeting the ever increasing global demand for energy storage, eco-friendly manufacturing, and carbon-neutral supply chains.During my undergraduate, I worked in the Despagnet-Ayoub lab at Occidental College leading a project to synthesize new electroactive compounds for redox flow batteries, which offer grid-scale energy storage for renewably generated power. I also worked extensively on organometallic catalysts enabling the oligomerization of light hydrocarbons to liquid fuel with the ultimate goal of starting from carbon dioxide. Additionally, I studied the reaction kinetics for the decomposition of compounds used to detect life on future mars rover missions in collaboration with NASA JPL.
