As a trainee I was only responsible for learning all necessary formulas and doing any and all things asked of me by the lead directional driller. After I moved up to night hand I was responsible for maintaining drilling parameters as instructed by the lead and keeping up with all necessary reports. As a lead directional driller I would supervise all aspects of steering the well, keeping up with daily reports, motor reports, BHA reports, & survey reports. I also ensured good communication was kept between the directional and Co. Reps as well as between the field and office. I was also responsible for mentoring junior hands.

Rocky Mountain District

As a floor hand I was responsible mainly for cleaning and maintenance and working on the rig floor making drill pipe connections and tripping pipe. As a motor man I was responsible for maintaining all motors on the rig as well as overseeing the floor hands and making drill pipe connections and tripping pipe.As a derrick hand I was responsible for mixing and maintaining mud specifications, working on and maintaining mud pumps as well as working in the derrick board when tripping pipe.As a driller I was responsible for overseeing all day to day operations of the rest of my crew, ensuring the safety of all hands during any operation, ensuring that all down hole specifications were maintained for optimum drilling performance as well as operating the rig during connections and while tripping pipe and running casing.
