I started in the automatic door industry in 1988 working on sliding, swinging, curved sliding and revolving doors for Langley Systems as they were then before becoming Tormax. During my time there the company developed processor controlled doors, moving away from the plug in circuit board and hydraulic damper and using programmers to set up the doors. After 12 years travelling extensively through out the UK, Ireland and Europe, I moved to a Boon Edam specialising in revolving doors and low level security access, where I spent 6 years installing in some of the most expensive and prestigious buildings in London, Canary wharf and in various government buildings and establishments across the UK. I moved back to the automatic door sector in 2006 and in 2007 was approached by Mike at Prosale to set up an installation department for automatic doors. This involved everything from purchasing tools, fixings, sourcing the door equipment, sensors and everything required to perform an installation from start to finish including interviewing and employing engineers. From that point until the end of Nov 2015 I have installed many different types of operator and products in many different and sometimes unusual places. December 2015 saw a change to the EA Group in a supervisory-project management role working with KBB revolving door systems and turnstiles. Never one to shy away from a challenge, the more complicated the better, but always to a high standard and beyond customer expectation.
