Moving into immigration services has been an incredible learning curve. With a focus on security services, I am responsible for ensuring high levels of vigilance, creating a safe, secure space for asylum seekers during their application process and waiting for approval by the Home Office. With high levels of alertness, I took charge of detecting suspicious behaviour or intercepting objects, hazards, potential situations by performing regular inspections and audits. One of 5 designated “vehicle supervisors”, I am able to put my technical expertise to good use with the day-to-day running of the company minibuses, ensuring functionality and presentability of all vehicles. A representative of the UK and our immigration service, my focus is to ensure their time in the UK, however long or short, is as comfortable and positive as possible, providing escort services to asylum seekers recently arriving in the UK and implementing health, safety and security protocols.
