As a proud Berea College alum, working for my fellow Kentuckians in the Commonwealth has been a good fit. For over a decade, I have held several positions within the Department of Revenue. Starting in the Division of Collections, management recognized my interest in technology and placed me on a project which allowed me the opportunity to help design, test, train, implement, and maintain a new software program used within the Division. The experience as a system administrator prepared me for my next position as a Resource Management Analyst within the Office of Registration and Operations. In this position with the E-Commerce Branch, I worked with various tax software providers to help them integrate with state systems in order to electronically file Business Income tax forms via xml until assuming the role of Branch Manager. Serving as the e-filing coordinator, I represent the state of Kentucky in meetings with the IRS, software community, and other states  and jurisdictions within the Federation of Tax Administrators. The E-Commerce Branch is responsible for facilitating the electronic filing of Individual Income tax returns, Business Income Tax returns, bulk filing Kentucky Wage and Tax statements, and ACH Credit and Debit payments. I am a troubleshooter who tries to take a logical approach to problem solving and I believe in servant leadership.  I have always maintained an interest in technology and have let curiosity lead me into hardware and software troubleshooting, instructional technology and training, sound engineering, and video editing. Beyond that, I have always appreciated the sciences, and, in-turn, logic as a means of making sense of the world around me. I began my college career with an interest in forensic chemistry and really enjoyed it, but philosophy and historical studies of ancient civilizations piqued my interest and led me down a path I never expected to culminate into proposing and receiving a degree for an Independent major. I love to learn and apply what I have learned to leading a fulfilling life.
