This role in the Fire Brigade was as a flexi duty officer in the Emergency Response department as the Improvement and Development Manager. This role involved most things to do with the fire brigade but a big part of it was improving the way the brigade worked, improving how we responded to incidents and planning for worst case emergency scenarios for all the fire types but in the main to the huge industry that Cleveland has, the COMAH sites, large industry and the Nuclear Power Station.

A technically competent Emergency Planning Officer capable of delivering Control of Major Accident Hazard (COMAH) exercises, EDF (Level 1, 2 & 3) exercises, COMAH plans, Tactical Advice to Incident Commanders, Major Incident training, A key member in the Cleveland Police’s Emergency Planning team that plays a major role in ensuring compliance to the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 from a policing perspective as well as a multi-agency point of view as well as being an integral part of the Specialist Support and Planning Unit.
