Courseware Instructional DesignerLockheed Martin Aug 2016 - Jan 2019Bristol, United KingdomI worked for Lockheed Martin as a security cleared (SC level) Information Designer (ID), creating course-ware content. These lessons are now being used by UK MFTS (Military Flight Training School), to train the UK joint armed services aircrew and flight instructors (QFI). It was a role that required the planning and creation of course-ware content to the Ministry of Defence (MOD), Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT, JP822) Standards. The content is being reused for both the student and instructor led classroom and practical environments, primarily using the IBM Kenexa learning content management system (LCMS). These lessons are now being delivered in hard copy, classroom interactive training, computer self-study and virtual reality flight simulation format. This was accomplished by using standard AGILE and SCRUM methods whilst working directly with the subject matter experts (SME’s) and a team of in-house Multimedia Designers (MD). Our primary task was to ensure that the lesson objectives and key learning points, set by the MOD, are covered in an engaging manner.Due to my prior experience as an RAF aircraft technician, I spent the majority of my time on rotary and fixed wing technical lessons. This freed up the SMEs to work on flight operational lessons as I could provide the initial advice to ID’s and MD’s on aircraft mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. -
