I started at Bigw as a casual employee with high ambitions. I progressed through certificate 1,2&3 in warehouse and logistics and moved up into supervisory roles. I learnt to manage people in a significant number( 30+ direct reports) as well as challenging workloads and meeting kpi's. I was promoted again to learn recieving management where i was controlling bookings, prioritising shipments ready for store events, managing queries and overseeing all recieving operations. I went on to learn despatch management then on to warehouse operations where i learnt about budgets, cost saving and forecasting. I also spent two years managing the rostering of over 300 employees on a daily basis, which also contained office administration, planning, forecasting labour cost per carton against challenging workloads and reviewing and updating the monthly budget.
