Lead Telehealth AdvisorTelehealth Victoria / Global Telehealth Jan 1998 - Apr 2002• TeleHealth Victoria formed in partnership with Victorian Healthcare Association to remove barriers to telehealth adoption• Participated in a Commonwealth Standing Committee report on Barriers to Telemedicine that ultimately resulted in a Medicare schedule for tele-psychiatry amongst other recommendations• Established that main issue was a lack of providers in major centres prepared / able to allow access to their services or education via video conference• 12 month full time assignment with Bayside Health to develop their e-Health unit• Developed joint $1.6m initiative with the Department of Human Services, Bayside Health and the Gippsland Rural Health Alliance to develop a model for the effective exchange of remote services• This period provided essential learning experiences in terms of what would be required to achieve the everyday integration of the technology
