In January 2006, Chris established the business ‘Catchment Simulation Solutions’ to pursue further consulting in the field of hydrologic and hydraulic modelling as well as development / commercialisation of the CatchmentSIM software. CSS has grown to specialise in flooding investigations and has completed over 20 flood and floodplain risk management studies in the last 5 years for various NSW Councils. CSS has also been engaged in consulting roles with key national water resource organisations including the Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO, National Water Commission and eWater CRC. CSS has also grown to become a leading technology and software development provider in the Australian water resource modelling industry. CSS is the primary developer of the widely used CatchmentSIM and TRIM software packages.

In previous employment Chris was engaged in the international water resources group within SMEC and worked in a wide range of drainage and water resources projects in Australia and overseas. This includes India, Botswana, Ethiopia, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, USA and the Middle East.

Employed in the Rivers and Estuaries Section of the firm as a water resources engineer specialising in project management and hydrologic / hydraulic modelling. Focused on flood and floodplain management studies, trunk drainage design and urban stormwater quality management.
