Provide leadership to the directors and employees who evaluate, design, and implement I/T solutions in support of clinical and business operations. This includes the virtualization platforms as well as application delivery across the enterprise. Managed multiple Enterprise Licensing Agreements for vendors such as Microsoft, Citrix, and VMWare. Provided technical direction and recommendation to multiple discipline project teams.Managed an operating budget of $15M and capital budget of $6M. Develop and achieve approval for operating and capital budgets year to year.Led negotiations for a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement renewal. This contract supports the licensing requirements of Banner Health until 2014. This contract increased software saturation and coverage while reducing the per-device cost year to year. Managed application delivery via System Center Configuration Management, Group Policy Objects, Scripting, and Citrix to over 30,000 computers. This includes the routine software and security maintenance of these devices.Led the consolidation of 600 physical servers onto 40 host systems, saving significant Data Center resources, power, cooling, management, and hardware costs. Developed the “Virtualization First” methodology for Banner Health. 60% of all new server requests are now virtualized. This is up from 0% in 2009.Managed the workstation refresh planning and budget for a fleet of 30,000 PCs, Laptops, and Tablets.Developed standardized and regular reporting tools to document productivity and workloads over time, ensuring budgets and planning are accurate.Maintained a highly performing team with minimal turnover or increases in staff count although the infrastructure has continued to grow at a rate of 16.5% (Y2Y) and the complexity of the environment has increased dramatically.Managed multiple Enterprise Support Agreements such as Microsoft Premier Support, Citrix, and VMware.

Led a team of engineers that was responsible for the management of Windows systems and standardized application deployments. Ensured standard and consistent operating system environments were available to all employees. Architected and implemented Microsoft Systems Management Server in a multi-region environment. The design and implementation built as a saleable solution initially providing support for 6,000 systems, developing into the current 30,000 systems managed today.Established the procedures and technology used to manage over 300 desktop applications. This includes packaging, re-packaging, scripting, problem resolution, patching, … These technologies are still in use today, nearly a decade later.Managed the technical systems and applications associated with the deployment of Windows 2000 to 7,000 computers. This included workflow analysis, technical development, implementation, and management of both technical and non-technical staff.Established a process and developed the required toolsets for standardized management of desktop systems. This includes the desktop support procedures and tools to ensure consistent and standard interface for the clinical environment. Implemented standardized management models for the desktop environment. This includes the hardware lifecycle, software licensing, configuration, and standards for the end user computing environment across the systemManaged software licensing consumption to ensure compliance with licensing agreements.

Worked on a team of I/T staff responsible for the remediation of Y2K affected applications as well as a post Y2K Microsoft domain implementation. Evaluated and resolved application issues related to Y2K. This included the use of various toolsets as well as re-development of code in VB, and C. Technical lead in the development of the standardized desktop environment and subsequent migration to a Microsoft domain. This includes the development of the automated toolsets to complete the migration to the domain as well as profile management post migration. During this effort 3,000 devices were migrated automatically with minimal technician involvement ensuring the project was completed quickly and with no additional staff.Worked with departments that had a specific need for an application not readily available to develop and implement the solution. This includes technology such as, but not limited to, a facility cash management system, I/T change management system, and desktop support deployment toolsets.
