With a strong foundation in both journalism and strategic communications, I excel at managing complex projects, engaging diverse audiences, and adapting to dynamic, high-pressure environments. As the Communications Director for the City of Boerne, I have been instrumental in advancing several high-impact initiatives, including the successful passage of a $36 million bond election. My role has also involved leading public engagement efforts and coordinating the countywide response to such critical events such as the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 winter storm, and the 2024 total solar eclipse. Before transitioning to my current role, I spent a decade in news journalism, where I covered several national headline stories, including the fertilizer plant explosion in West, Texas, the 2013 Fort Hood Court Martial, the 2014 mass shooting on Fort Hood, the Thanksgiving Day shooting in downtown Austin in 2014, the Sutherland Springs shooting in 2017, and the Gatesville hospital explosion in 2018.During my journalism career, I was proud to be part of KWTX's award-winning team, contributing to a National Edward R. Murrow Award in 2020 and a National Sigma Delta Chi Award from the Society of Professional Journalists in 2012.
