Supply Chain Planning AnalystCanadian Tire Jan 2012 - May 2013As the Network Alignment analyst the main responsibilities were to analyze product characteristics such as product lifecycle, inventory, distribution center space requirements, health regulations for storing special products and transportation costs to ensure they were slotted in the appropriate distribution center, develop new and continuously improve existing product deployment processes to achieve the lowest cost distribution network and present recommendations to senior management on a quarterly basis. Lead on the Product Deployment Optimization Model project where I lead an IT team to develop an optimization model using MS Access (with Visual Basic programming), Oracle and CPLEX (complex modelling software). The model took into account many different aspects of Canadian Tires Supply Chain such as; transportation costs, inventory costs and DC space requirements, and incorporated them into one tool. I coordinated and conducted weekly meetings with all stakeholders involved to go over the reporting and to ensure business continuity throughout the implementation of the tool. Other responsibilities include; conducting training sessions for the recently hired Supply Chain Analysts, supporting the annual financial budget forecasting & creation process for all of the DC’s across Canada, coordinating/managing inventory planning, ensuring all new products introduced into the system got slotted to the correct DC and collaborating with internal stakeholders to manage any ad-hoc requests.

Supply Chain Planning AnalystCanadian Tire Jul 2011 - Jun 2012As the Offshore Business analyst the main responsibility was to ensure smooth and cost effective product flow of offshore sourced products from the origin port to the port of destination to adhere to all of the SLA's in place. This included overseeing management of inventory control processes and continuously improving upon them to lower costs throughout the distribution network. In the first 6 months of this role I lead the creation of the Offshore BA EUC where I took it upon myself to create a MS Access EUC to automate 95% of the KTLO tasks involved with the role. This allowed me to take on the Network Alignment Analyst role (see above) while still completing all of the KTLO responsibilities of this role for a period of 6 months. This automation continues to save Canadian Tire over $25,000 per year on labour costs alone. I also received the Lean Green Belt Certification from APICS in January, 2012. Other responsibilities include; ensuring products were received at the correct distribution center, create weekly reporting for multiple stakeholders outlining the impacts of business decisions and selecting appropriate products to flow through the Direct Ship channel to ensure use of the distribution network to its fullest capabilities.

As the lead on this project my responsibilities included supplier collaboration, product lifecycle analysis, demand planning, inventory management, planning the returns of the existing product, overseeing day-to-day store level operations and collaborating with the Marketing team by sharing status updates and reporting the progress of the project.I was able to effectively reduce the overall inventory of the Paint department while increasing the inventory turns and service level to all of the Canadian Tire stores. I did this by using Manugistics/JDA demand planning software and continuously improving upon the daily SOP’s. During these two years I was also on the Health and Safety committee to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and I also received the CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) designation from APICS in January, 2010. Other responsibilities of the role included; supporting the training and development team to educate new supply chain analysts and supporting the in-stock position of the weekly flyer.

Hockey CoachGthl Jun 2011 - Apr 2013I am about to start my second year as the Trainer/Goalie Coach for the Markham Islanders Bantam “AA” Team in the GTHL (Greater Toronto Hockey League). Throughout the season as the Goalie Coach I am responsible for training the goalies at every practice and I am also responsible for attending every game to help prepare the goalies to play at their highest level. This also includes attending all of the tournaments we are in as well as coaching them through off-ice training.I was also involved with scouting and recruiting new goalies for the upcoming year. This involved attending games throughout last season with the head coach to help him determine what type of goalies he wanted for the team. I was also present at the tryouts for both seasons and helped run the tryout camp this year. I will also be assisting the head coach during this years’ training camp as well as running practices throughout the year
