Directly supporting the government’s nationwide COVID-19 Infection Survey to study who has been infected with the coronavirus and monitor immunity in those who have had the vaccine. The position involves organising equipment and inventory, scheduling visits to households, and carrying out surveys and swab/blood tests with the participants.

Operating as part of a large team to receive and process COVID-19 test samples via PCR. Experience gained in sample receipt, building plates, and aiding with the overall step-by-step operation that follows (pipetting, RNA extraction, PCR and detection). Duties also include deep cleaning of the laboratories, autoclaving and disposal of waste, maintaining equipment, routine system checks and inventory management. This role was unfortunately terminated following a predicted lack of demand for PCR tests going forward.

Working with a team to manage and answer technical enquiries from both large and small customers. Responsible for carrying out research of end user applications and leveraging knowledge of an expansive, evolving product range in order to provide the best possible solutions to clients. Tasked with cross-checking safety hazard information and labelling of goods, therefore gaining a large insight into compliance with legislative regulations within the chemical industry. Administrative duties included creating and editing instructional documents for bulk production, overseeing several ongoing data management projects and organising both technical and safety data sheets. As a result, a high level of proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software/platforms has been obtained. Both roles frequently involve working and collaborating with a wide variety of other sectors, including sales, supply, R&D, customer services and production. Training has also been undertaken for carrying out warehouse quality control, to help with busier delivery periods and fill in for absent staff. A DGSA qualification (all classes by road) was obtained for undertakings involving the packing, filling, loading, unloading and transportation of hazardous materials.
