Project & Production Management: Oversee large projects from concept to completion; manage budgets, suppliers and staff. Manage the production of artwork, gather and distribute pertinent information. Track progress of designs and make adjustments as necessary, coordinate with purchasing and traffic departments to ensure timely delivery. Communicate with overseas suppliers.Staff Management: Manage the Photographer, junior designer, product designer and freelance designers. Manage the budget and schedule for the department. Use available resources to motivate and propel staff towards achieving a goal. Post job ads, review resumes and conduct interviews. Photography: Direct the photography for a photobank of over 25,000 images. Ensure that images are kept uniform and up to date. Perform studio photography when an in-house photographer was not present. Guide the photographer artistically for all packaging photography.Quality Control: Approve pre-production samples of packaging. Perform inspections on each item as they arrive from overseas suppliers. Approve product, shipping cartons and packaging or request and coordinate repairs in-house.
