• Developing and delivering a catchment wide strategic control programme for the management of Invasive Non-Native Species • Development and implementation of a biosecurity plan for the River Annan catchment area • Raising awareness of invasive species by engaging and liaising with landowners, members of the public, local authorities and government bodies • Sourcing and developing external project funding as well as budgeting and reporting • Managing and working with volunteers from a variety of backgrounds and skills to deliver various projects • Carry out fisheries/salmonid and habitat surveys (using the Scottish Fisheries Co-ordination Centre methodology) for monitoring and commercial clients including Ibedrola, SSE, Eon, Local Authorities, Network Rail and Scottish Water • Writing professional scientific reports for analysis of electrofishing data for commercial clients • Mapping and Assessing barriers for fish migration to prioritise barriers for easement and/or removal • Surveying for freshwater invertebrates using the Riverfly Partnership methodology to identify key taxon to assess the health of water bodies • Surveying for American signal crayfish, freshwater pearl mussels, American mink and invasive plants such as Japanese knotweed, Himalayan balsam and giant hogweed • Created and developed the River Annan website and social media pages to promote the work of the River Annan Trust and the INNS project • Promoting the INNS project and the River Annan Trust through a variety of media including local and national radio, online and at shows and events • Using ArcGIS to produce professional maps from geographic data for invasive species management and analysis of fish and habitat surveys, using this data for commercial clients as well as public interpretation and education • Experience of involving members of the public in data recording or citizen science for assessing barriers for fish migration and recording and reporting invasive species
