I started work for Promonex as a process operator on the new De-sulpherisation plant within Fiddlers Ferry Power Station (FGD). I also become a shift leading hand in 2012 where I took responsibilities  of a three man shift putting people to work and making sure they were working safely and efficiently . I am fully passed out with my rec 47 on our plant and I have also been training new operators to my high standards  over the past few years. .My main role is to look after the running plant by carrying out  routine plant checks  and also look after pumps and open and close valves. We are in direct contact with the control room and we contact them if there isare any issues, and they will contact us if they need any jobs completing or issues looking at.I am also designated waste water treatment plant operator , I control this plant  myself.  This is where we take the waste water from our plant and treat it with dosing chemicals  and once it has been treated we send it straight to the river controlling the waste water by using control panels and automated systems which have interlocks for temperature and PHI work with chemicals such as HCL (33%) and hydrated Lime Milk Powder; I also unload chemicals from the tankers using a forklift truck.Since October 12’ I have become a leading hand looking after a shift. My duties involve looking after my fellow colleagues making sure they are cooperating properly and safely while also getting the job done this involves PTW systems and risk assessment checks . I also have my IOSH  certificate which I really enjoyed too. it helped me with my outlook on my work surroundings and how others are working too I work to high standards and since working and Fiddlers Ferry I have become very aware about the importance of health and safety and adhere to this strongly as this is a main priority on site.

I started work for a company called The Duckworth Group in Astmoor (later became Cargill System Flavours due to takeover). I was a ‘beverage manufacturer working with chemicals. My role was to make flavourings and juices for food and drink productsI used to measure and weigh raw materials and chemicals using a pump to pump in bulk items.After a few years I changed departments to operations support, here I supported the production team in every way possible by collating and weighing products for production and also collecting samples for Q.C. I also used to help with goods in and goods out. Loading and unloading wagons using a fork lift truck (which im qualified to operate).I was also a first aid and fire marshal. I then soon left Cargill because a new challenge arose for me and it presented the chance to better myself, this is when I moved on to my current job.
