Reporting to the IT Director. I initially joined to create an architecture function across the regional development centres. I started by forming an Architectural Practice and defining the Architectural Principles. Then formed the Platform Review Board and Architectural Review Board to provide planning and design governance. Once the foundations had been formed the first project was to replace the existing loan platform with a multi tenancy application split by Business functions designed with parameterised blocks to achieve re-use. I was running a distributed team covering Data Architecture, Solution Architecture, Enterprise Architecture and Business Architecture across our development centres in Poland, Prague, Riga, Vilnius and London. My second project I was reporting to the Chief Analytical Officer to provide an Analytical Platform Road Map. We performed vendor selection process to provide a platform to service the company’s data requirements. The platform designed provided the following capabilities: - Data Quality, Data Integration, Self Service Data Analysis, Machine Learning, Data Lineage, Data Visualisation/Exploitation and KPI Dashboards. I also took the role of Interim Head of Data Management while recruiting for a replacement.

Working on a Greenfield Global Payment Platform. It was my overall responsibility to produce Solution Design for the DW, OLTP, ODS and EDS and take this design through the Tollgate design process and then through to development then Testing. This covered all aspects of the solution design :- Data Tokenisation, Data Security, ILM Strategy, Data Governance, Dimensional Modelling, Logical Data Modelling to Physical Data modelling and interfaces.I also worked with Enterprise Architecture to define the Interface Catalogue, Data Distribution Patterns, Data Distribution Frameworks, Templates and check point process.Other roles, responsibilities and achievements• Member of the Technical Design Authority, used to make decisions on Design/Solution Issues.• Participated in Daily Stand up meeting for Projects following AGILE Methodology• Worked with Enterprise Architecture on the Modelling tool selection for modelling and mapping• Worked with development Partners to produce the ETL framework using ODI.• Designed Row Level Data Security using VPD for party hierarchies • Worked with the DBA team to design a PL/SQL framework to perform Realtime Data Movement to ensure continuous data movement through the layers of the application.• Chaired the Data Working Group – Used to perform PDM reviews, Interface Function Designs reviews, Data Pattern Discussions and any other data related issue.• Member of the SOA working group – Used to agree SOA service interfaces.• Developed data movement patterns and Interface Framework with a tollgate review process• Temporally Managed DBA team for 3 months (peaked at 9 DBA’s). The first project I worked on was to design and develop a strategic Data Item processing system that would process XML and text file based submissions. The design utilised Oracle Partitioning to allow scalable parallel processing of the ETL system using Datamanager.This design was then extended to be used for Banks Liquidity Data Items. I became the ETL Design Lead to extend the design to process higher volumes in less time and to provide Dashboard Functionality with targets and thresholds. The ETL was fully automated to add new partitions and sub partitions for new data items by just adding reference data. I was heavily involved with the design of the data marts, table structures and the Index strategy. I had to work closely with the off shore Front end Development Team to ensure the front end Cognos Dashboard and reporting was optimized for fast response.More recently I was the BI Data Architect for the Solvency II POC. This project was to process XBRL data items using the same structures used for the Liquidity Project but using Oracle 11g, ODI 11g and OBIEE 11g. We replicated some existing reports and ETL processes and imbedded other applications in the dashboard.The Strategic Data Item Processing system now processes all of the FSA submissions from the legacy systems and the current Gabriel System ( over 80 data items ) and will replace 2 previous reporting systems used for reporting firm’s submissions.Other roles, responsibilities and achievements while as a TA for the BI Centre of Excellence• Review and sign off Code ( ETL , DB, and Reports )• Develop standards and processes to be used by the on-shore off shore team(s)• Feed into data interface designs and sign off proposed solution• R & D of new products ( ODI 11g, OBIEE 11g, ExaData, ExaAnalytics, In memory DB’s)• Designed and developed an ETL calculation engine.• Designed and developed the Firm’s Data Item and Schedules Data Marts• Oversee the Upgrade Cognos environment from 8.4 to 10.1
