Capitol Outdoor co-founder Christopher Tavlarides started a small restaurant and bar network in 1990 and has grown this platform to one of the largest out-of-home media companies in the US. The company has a national footprint with coveted locations in 22 major markets across the country. Capitol has divested assets over the years to New Century Holdings LLC and Fuel Outdoor, an Ochs Ziff portfolio company, reinvesting proceeds to create a larger platform to service its Fortune 1000 client base.Tavlarides is also a co-founder of Sophia Entertainment Group, producers of high quality television and motion picture programming. He developed his love of film in 1988 as an intern at Circle Films. Sophia has co-produced 10 feature documentaries. Circle Films, a production and distribution company founded by producers and theater owners Ted and Jim Pedas, backed several award-winning films, including "Raising Arizona," "Barton Fink," "Blood Simple," "Miller’s Crossing" and "Caught." The office was an incubator for writers and producers such as crime novelist, George Pelecanos, producer Jim Jacks and producer Chris Zarpas. Many of Tavlarides’ responsibilities at Circle involved film promotions, which inspired him to develop the outdoor advertising business. Through Sophia, Tavlarides has invested in and produced his own films including the award-winning, "The Good Son: The Life of Ray Boom Boom Mancini," broadcast on NBC, "The Culture High," "Ice Guardians," "Chasing Evel: The Robbie Knievel Story," and "Inmate #1: The Rise of Danny Trejo." He also made strategic investments in SnagFilms and Indiewire, founded by Ted Leonsis and Rick Allen. Tavlarides is also co-founder of Prytany, the first social media network for politics that allows candidates and constituents alike to crowdsource for federal elections. Prytany is fast and easy to use, secure, non-partisan and has the lowest fees in politics. Prytany recently acquired Crowdpac the leader in the space with 1 M members giving Prytany Tech two platforms for socialized political engagement. Tavlarides is a graduate of George Washington University.
