My organisational and communication experience is based on working for thirty years in the community and local government sector. I have served on various committees including the National Shelter committee in Australia and the North Sydney Council Access committee. I have presented papers at conferences and hold regular meetings using digital technology. In the last 10 years I written several papers for academic journals. In 2020 I co-wrote a paper on homelessness and housing in Bath. This was published in 2021. Whilst in full employment I have undertaken several educational courses including two Master’s Degrees. and a Graduate Diploma in Housing Management and Administration.I have a good working knowledge of the needs and challenges facing the community sector.Between 1998 and 2015 I have worked with Community Development/Social Planning at North Sydney Council in Sydney Australia. During this period, I work on business and sustainability planning and budgeting for several small community organisations proving services to older people. My experience also includes researching and setting up organisations with local communities in response to identified needs. In this role I reported outcomes with agreed KPIs and sustainability indicators. In 2015 I spent three months at Oxford University researching the sustainability of small community organisations for older people. In 2021 I researched and developed sustainability indicators for the heritage railway sector.I have significance experience of report writing. Local Government and Community Development work demands frequent reports, policy papers and contributing to planning applications. I have also worked on strict timelines to produce papers for conferences and University studies.Most of previous employment positions have demanded an active engagement with people and groups from diverse backgrounds and circumstances. I have chaired various meetings and worked with many different organisations to resolve challenges and respond to policy change. In more recent times I have worked on several arts programs including plays and film making. In 2021 worked with a group of diverse organisations to organise a small industrial heritage festival. I have contributed to several community management boards during my working career including community housing and community transport.
