Reporting directly to the President of the company as a Senior Project Engineer I was given complete control over the projects in my scope. Typically this was a complete life cycle from napkin sketch from a regional sales rep or a national chain restaurant Engineer. Typically it was a question of “can you make this?” to putting a fully functional prototype in front of them with in weeks. I was tasked with gathering information, putting that information into a form that the executive team could understand and approve to proceed with from a company investment. As a Senior Project Engineer I kept a historical record of the project from an experimental status up to and including plant launch. This included all aspects of launch, tooling quotes machinery quote or machinery design and build. Duties Solidworks design, Project management, obtain quotes issue purchase orders, build prototypes. Test equipment/products for life cycle, calculate stresses and design and build machinery to help produce said products. Travel to vendors as well as clients was an integral part of the day to day process

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, was provided a key group of clients where I was their “subject matter” expert. My duties with said clients were all encompassing, this included: Quoting of entire job via material, machining, welding, finishing and delivery. Material quoting included all types of steel, plastics, brass, copper, aluminum. Machining quotes included CNC mills and lathes, manual mills and lathes, live tooling centers, saws, brake press, laser table and plasma table. Welding both manual and robotic as well as fixture design. Strength and engineering calculation to assure welded assemblies would perform as desired. Plant Routers, ERP entry, Quality concerns and work instructions for the floor Parts produced included large fabricated assemblies, ultra small parts for government contractors. Plastic machined parts welded aluminum as well as reverse engineering parts that prints were not available for. Utilized tools such as Solidworks, Draftsight, Microsoft Excel, Word and Project

Using Solidworks 2016, Creo 3.0 and autocad designed parts and fixtures for the heavy equipment market. Customers included John Deere, Caterpillar, Deere Hitachi and JLG. Duties include design for development of heavy fabrication, as well as quoting of new product fabrication and fixturing, this included laser, plasma or flame cut, machining, both manual and CNC, welding, tack, robot and final and paint time. ERP system input and maintenance. Laser programming, nesting, designed fixtures for tack welding, robot welding machining and paint. As well as support equipment for moving and storage of manufactured parts and assemblies. Creation of S.O.P for production floor as well as inspection forms for quality purposes. Developed routers for the floor to aid in the process of work flow, developed timelines for all aspects of product from samples to finished product, helped with APQP and PPAP.

Using AutoCAD and Inventor 2015, and various Microsoft products, designed, quoted, sourced, purchased parts/machinery for the foundry industry as well as specialized machinery. Traveled to customer locations to take field measurements, pictures, information gathering to both accurately and timely produce the desired equipment on time and within budget. Projects ranged in monetary value 5k to 500k, purchasing and sourcing were at my discretion.

Using varied CAD skills, designed products ranging from Consumer goods to appliance to transportation items, as well as items for the office furniture market. Worked with vendors on tooling and supplies as well as customers on their requirements and agency approvals. Finalized paperwork on the purchase of capital tooling as well as prototype samples. Maintained good working relationships with customer base often being tasked to travel to their facility to discuss needs and requirements.
