In my previous employment, I used Google Analytics to guide the website, SEO and Google AdWords campaigns. These tools I continued to use whilst promoting a successful Guesthouse near the English Lakes. As well as marketing, was involved in operations to deliver a first-class guest experience, build word of mouth and repeat business.

I was appointed Marketing Director as the SME company made significant strides in becoming FAIRTRADE and part of the subsequent anti-plastic bag wave. In 2006/2007 we were one of the first companies to become licensed for supply of FAIRTRADE cotton and together with the Co-operative, launched the UK’s first supermarket FAIRTRADE cotton shopper. At roughly the same time we launched the iconic Tesco Jute shopper which cut plastic bag usage by 3bn. We manufactured reusable promotional bags for Health shops, Council campaigns and Marketing agencies as well as 26,000 other brands, supplying high profile events such as London Fashion Week and Nike 10K, to fresher’s week at the University of Oxford!Expanding and managing the 200+ product range and accessories (over 17million combinations) and over 360,000 price points. In 2007 some 80% of sales came from 3 products, but with the increase in range, in 2011 some 15 products accounted for 80% of sales. This increase relied on a well-structured and managed supply chain.I was responsible for the website and £250,000 of Google ADWORDS campaigns to generate enquiries for the telesales team to convert into sales. I was also responsible for the creation, targeting and testing of email shots and special offers to our existing database and bought lists.Wrote an article in the Packaging Professional July/Aug 2007 titled ‘Bags of Morals’ - the bi-monthly magazine of IOP: The Packaging Society. I later developed a Bags of Ethics brand used on all products in UK and for our expansion into EU and USA. This brand gave the product a story, personality and a unique position being environmentally friendly, ethically manufactured and professionally delivered - ethics, green & professional was the slogan at the time!From 2005 I was also appointed Company Secretary and dealt with legal issues on an ad hoc basis as well as complaints.

Started as a Sales Administrator at this SME. Within logistics and operations, I was able to create improved systems and processes to manage the flow of 100's of containers, LCL, trailers and airfreight cargo from China, India and Bangladesh to the UK, EMEA - carpet backing and textiles for DIY and hotels. I was responsible for maintaining relationships with suppliers and negotiating contracts. Handled customer complaints and evaluated factory problem areas. Worked closely with factory QC on product specifications, orders and delivery times.

Managed the import into Felixstowe, UK warehousing & EU distribution of Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals and Dyestuffs.
