In this position, I vet upwards of 20 submissions a week, attend editorial meetings, and collaborate with fellow editors.I also served as the Assistant Fiction Editor in the Spring of 2021, and as the Assistant Nonfiction Editor in the Fall of 2021. In these roles, I led biweekly editorial meetings for a team of five editors, worked directly with contributing authors, performed administrative duties, and organized a Zoom release party for our fall 2021 issue.

Taught over a dozen classes at the University of Illinois, including First-Year Composition, Introduction to Fiction Workshop, and Reading for Writers, a 200-level course surveying the writing conventions and craft moves of several different genres, including fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and long-form journalism. Engaged with the community by teaching free-to-the-public creative writing workshops at the Champaign Public Library, as well as for our unhoused neighbors at the Phoenix Daytime Drop-In Center. Recognized on the UIUC English Department List of Excellent Teachers 2019 – 2022.

I taught language arts at the middle and high school level at PSD Global Academy, a public school in Fort Collins, Colorado. I developed curriculum for and taught 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th grade general Language Arts, as well as Grammar and Composition, Creative Writing, 7th grade Advisory, and 9th grade advisory. Served as the department chair for the middle school English Department, as the building steward for the Poudre Education Association, and as the co-sponsor for Creative Writing Club, Running Club, Allies in Diversity Club, and for Project Lit, a social-justice book club for high school students.

Co-host, organize and promote for a monthly poetry slam, Slamogadro, on the final Sunday of every month. Four year participant in Fort Collins Fringe Festival.

Set up local chapter, organized events, marketed, and produced content for a nonprofit dedicated to increasing college students’ financial literacy.

Copyedited scholarly articles for the Journal of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Excellence.

Wrote, edited and promoted for a weekly satirical news column entitled The Hall-Monitor Herald, which appeared in The Rocky Mountain Collegian, and as a bi-annually published zine.

I served meals, prepared food, cleaned tables and washed dishes.
