In these roles, I led biweekly editorial meetings for a team of five editors, worked directly with contributing authors, performed administrative duties, and organized a Zoom release party for our fall 2021 issue.

Taught over a dozen classes at the University of Illinois, including First-Year Composition, Introduction to Fiction Workshop, and Reading for Writers, a 200-level course surveying the writing conventions and craft moves of several different genres, including fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and long-form journalism. Engaged with the community by teaching free-to-the-public creative writing workshops at the Champaign Public Library, as well as for our unhoused neighbors at the Phoenix Daytime Drop-In Center. Served as the department chair for the middle school English Department, as the building steward for the Poudre Education Association, and as the co-sponsor for Creative Writing Club, Running Club, Allies in Diversity Club, and for Project Lit, a social-justice book club for high school students.
