Managing DirectorCommunity Home Solutions Jan 2021 - PresentNottingham, England, United KingdomAfter a 10yr career in the energy efficiency industry at E.ON, I made the decision to fulfill a lifelong aspiration of mine to set up and run a new company. During my previous employment, I worked my way up over time starting as a product researcher, to eventually managing a team of 30 people, securing and managing multimillion pound housing retrofit programmes. This has given me a huge grounding of knowledge and an excellent stakeholder network across all sectors within the industry. Working with my business partners, in this role I will create, establish and manage my own company, where decisions and actions can be made quickly to enable success. We’ll specialise in working with residents, councils, charities, public and private funding streams and many more stakeholders to design, secure and deliver retrofit housing solutions to all residents in UK communities. The foundation platform of funding we’ll aim to secure and use to deliver this objective will be using Green Homes Grant Vouchers and Local Authority Delivery (LAD), combined with ECO. We fully intend to broaden and grow funding streams further though, because as great as these funding streams are, some customers need that little bit more help!If you are interested Community Home Solutions (CHS), please drop me a message for a chat 😁👍🏻 -
Head Of Managed ServicesE.On Uk Dec 2018 - Dec 2020Nottingham, United KingdomIn 2018 I was tasked with starting a new business function from scratch with limited funds to pay for my time only until sufficient income could allow the team to expand one by one. During this time I have developed a multilayered high performing team from 1 to now nearly 40 strong that has organically grown as we’ve secured contracts, which now total over £50m revenue. My role acting as a managing agent business provides a full end to end service for customers by securing and delivering multimillion pound funding streams to add new value solutions to the E.ON’s portfolio, public sector offerings and vulnerable community solutions - targeting delivery into private sector homes through creative community lead generation. The function covers four main areas:1. Green Homes Grant, Local Authority Delivery (LAD) - I have led my team to secure and mobilise multi million LAD funding and delivery schemes in the midlands to compliment Warm Homes Funding we’re currently delivering to over 2,500 homes. 2. ECO Obligation Trading - In 2020 this includes over £24m in contracted revenue across a range of supplier sizes.3. Health sector - Through the use of external funding from BEIS Healthy Ageing Programme, strategic partners and innovative products, we’re working with the public sector to reduce pressure on local services by delivering solutions directly to private residential homes.4. Bespoke solutions - through the use of matched European Space Agency (ESA) funding, we’re working with a software developer who specialises in satellite data to deliver a dynamic dashboard that allows us to identify vulnerable communities that we can support.5. Midlands consortium - In the last 2years my department have secured contracts with five midlands county councils through a consortium way of working that exceeds over £16m in funding. We’re a year into the delivery of what was described at the start as “not possible” by working with over 20 consortium partners. -

B2M Eco Brokerage ManagerE.On Uk Oct 2014 - Apr 2016In this role, I managed the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Brokerage channel to deliver schemes to support E.ON’s ECO. In Q4 2014, I was responsible for managing the delivery of 22 contracts at a total value of £10m. Key aspects of the role include: Brokerage Platform – I was responsible for purchasing and managing delivery of all E.ON’s Brokerage contracts. This responsibility required me to manage ECO schemes from end to end. This included creating bidding strategies, obtaining required authorisations, bidding, contract signature, scheme setup, client liaison, ongoing scheme performance, financial reporting and negotiating any future opportunities. Sales – A key part of my role was to liaise directly with Green Deal Provider’s (GDP’s) to negotiate and contract ECO schemes post Brokerage contract completion. My focus was specifically discussing and contracting solid wall insulation (SWI) opportunities that could be delivered by E.ON’s Internal Delivery Team (IDT). Fraud Management – Since the start of ECO, fraudulent claims have become a big problem for the Obligation Industry. To manage this, I was responsible for managing conflict in difficult situations, setting compliance criteria, freezing payments and challenging client performance within our legal scope. Contract Management – My Obligation experience of designing, contracting and delivering high value energy efficiency schemes during ECO, enabled me to competently manage contractors and their performance to ensure Service Level Agreements (SLAs) were adhered to. I achieved this by developing a close relationship with my clients, providing guidance and clear communication around the consequences of failing to meet contracted targets.Stakeholder Management – A key part of my role was to work collaboratively across the business, and with external partners to help E.ON meet ECO targets efficiently and within Mid Term Plan (MTP). -
B2M Senior Eco Design ManagerE.On Uk Nov 2012 - Sep 2014As a Senior Design Manager, I designed high value energy efficiency schemes to support the delivery of E.ON’s ECO Obligation. During my time in the role, I designed and contracted a range of schemes including Local Authority SWI schemes typically worth around £2m. Key aspects of the role include:Commercial Acumen – The delivery of cost effective carbon is essential for E.ON in order to meet its ECO carbon saving targets effectively and within MTP. I achieved this by negotiating with clients and Business Development Account Managers (BDAMs) on a daily basis in order to secure best value for money. Ofgem & DECC Consultation – Whilst in the Design Team, I became a point of contact for technical knowledge and advice for anything SWI or District Heating related. I therefore frequently supported colleagues with responses to consultations and represented E.ON at Ofgem and Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC) conferences.Financial Reporting – I managed and oversaw the development of E.ON’s financial reporting system. I ensured that financial reporting was accurate and produced sales reports to senior management ready for monthly board meetings.Technical Competence – My experience and technical background enabled me to transition into ECO with a thorough understanding of the key principles required to design, deliver and notify schemes with technical measures. For example, at the start of ECO I successfully transferred CESP District Heating measures to ECO. I did this by liaising with Ofgem and the Building and Research Establishment (BRE) to qualify the carbon savings from the scheme.Process Development – Following the start of ECO, I designed bespoke processes to support and improve the efficiency of the wider Obligation Team. For example, I designed and implemented a Contractor Safety & Engagement (CS&E) process. This helped BDAMs and the Green Deal Partnership Manager increase the number of suitable contractors through the CS&E process. -
New Business Cesp/Eco Scheme Account ManagerE.On Uk May 2012 - Nov 2012Nottingham, United KingdomDuring the Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP) I managed the delivery of six schemes across the UK. The largest of these schemes was valued at £11million. Key aspects of the role included:Project Management – In order to deliver CESP scheme targets by 2012, I used my initiative and project management experience to liaise, organise and influence key stakeholders so as to work to a high standard within tight deadlines. These stakeholders specifically included; scheme clients, E.ONs IDT, Microgen and Community Energy. Carbon Calculation – Data analysis, alongside the design and evaluation of strategic delivery programmes was a key aspect of this role. The aim was to always achieve the full carbon potential of schemes through the most cost effective and time efficient methods. Contract Development & Variations – Whilst managing the delivery of live schemes, I also worked directly with E.ONs Legal Team to pull together IDT commercials, schedules of work and other variation requirements such as; additional Microgen work. Ofgem Submissions – In order to comply with Ofgem regulations, I revaluated and submitted CESP schemes to include new measures, such as; partial draught proofing. This required a sound understanding of eligible CESP measures, products and systems. Financial Reporting – Adhering to finance governance and reporting was critical. This typically included drafting Investment Proposals and updating the Finance Team on CESP delivery progress each month, through the production of month end reports. -
