While our population is increasingly urbanised, our cities are becoming ever more complex. Our challenge as designers and solutions providers is to organise the places we work, live and play in such a manner that they are sustainable, vibrant, resilient, agile, future-ready, and continually foster innovative ideas and processes. I believe Integrated Urban Sustainability looks to optimise the functioning of our precincts and cities as a whole, through an integrated multi-disciplinary approach. The world, and our Jacobs projects are full of abundant ideas, lessons learnt, and benefits realised. I am excited by the prospect of playing a role in sharing those stories and knowledge globally.I aim to:Develop and lead strategy and growth: The field of sustainability is always evolving. Over the last decade we have seen the standardisation of TBL frameworks, the proliferation of sustainability rating tools, advancements in infrastructure sustainability, and now a focus on delivering lasting livability and productivity for our cities. Our strategy and growth has to adapt to this shifting focus if we are to continue to deliver value as thought leaders. I want to lead this development, to shape our focus for the future, and continue our organisational legacy of planning beyond today for a more sustainable future for everyone.Drive excellence: I have a passion for continual improvement and delivery excellence, ensuring the products and services we offer our clients exceed their expectations. I want to utilise my technical depth and breadth of industry expertise in this role and be a part of sharing our successes.Foster innovation: Innovation is a team effort, and it does not happen in a silo. Our role will always be to build momentum toward disruptive innovation. I find it’s often more powerful to encourage innovative thinking, and simply create a safe space for innovation to thriveImprove connectivity and integration: Our networks within Jacobs are vast. The current global pandemic has made us all realise that distance is irrelevant. The desire and benefits of collaboration are clear, and I want to build on existing knowledge networks and CoP’s to ensure we get to know each other better. I am excited about connecting our urban sustainability professionals and capabilities across all regions.
