Working for the Chief Information Office. Primarily Cisco infrastructure design including Data, Voice, Video, Security and Comms Room layout and specification. Also includes 3rd party negotiation and project coordination.

- As architect; Designed a replacement secure network for the EDF Nuclear Emergency Planning Group. A critical network infrastructure supporting Data, Voice and Video- As team leader; Role included estimating, assigning and coordinating resources to work on infrastructure projects within EDF. This included interfacing with customers, PMO, project managers, architects, other technical departments as well as 3rd parties. Responsible for reviewing network designs and handling project priorities and issues. - Managed team of 5 network engineers on the implementation of a new accredited network for the EDF nuclear new build construction. Project included the installation of dual Nexus 7000 Core switches, multiple distribution and access switches, load balancers and firewalls. Also included the preparation of test scripts, performing extensive tests and preparing handover documentation- Project engineer on a large number of projects both at the EDF head office in Barnwood and at Power Stations around the UK. This included installation and configuration of equipment in a variety of locations including construction sites and nuclear controlled areas where change control and scheduling are critical to the operation of the plant.

Included production of detailed documentation (Pre and post sales)- Successful in 75% of bids.- Design and configuration of LANs & WLANs supporting Multiple VLANs, 802.1x access control, VoIP, Multicast routing, IPTV & CCTV support and QOS. Also WAN, site to site VPN and remote access

- Implementation of WAN infrastructure projects across the Greater European Region.- Managed implementation teams across a wide culturally diverse area - Preparation of proposals, obtaining funding approval, risk assessment, stakeholder and third party management. Configuration, implementation and engineering support.- Lead on $4m upgrade of Intel’s WAN infrastructure in Russia. Reduced cost per Mb by 38% while increasing overall reliability. Included vendor selection and coordinating implementations- Transitioned Intel’s European Layer 2 ATM infrastructure to MPLS- Completed 12 new acquisitions around Europe. - Technical lead on a number of high profile projects in the department.- Main projects completed: - TDA for the Bristol Royal Infirmary Inquiry into infant deaths sponsored by the DoH. Technical team lead for Year 2000 DR plan for the CMO office (Chief Medical Officer). Automation of Windows application updates. Significantly reduced application roll-out time. - 3rd line support and training for IT staff
