  • Aurecon
    Senior Environmental Advisor/Project Manager
    Aurecon 2012 - 2017
    Perth, Australia
Specialist in Environmental Planning, Advisory and Project Management roles. I worked on numerous projects including demolition/refurbishment project management, provided environmental advice and management during pre-works and construction of a major EPCM project, contaminated sites assessments throughout WA within the private and government sectors. I have also provided planning, budget and schedule advice ensuring compliance during the development of major projects including recent assignments at defence bases including RAAF Pearce and Campbell Barracks. I have also worked as a secondee to the PTA assisting with the Forrestfield Airport Link and as part of the Samsung client team for a 344km Roy Hill rail construction project.Key Achievements· Project Management and Coordination of Pre-Demolition WorksStrong interpersonal and communication skills were essential in the successful delivery of a demolition project at Campbell Barracks where there was a requirement for the preliminary site works to be completed with short notice over a “peak usage period”. Communication with all related parties (contractors/site security/site personnel etc) needed to be clear and concise for successful completion of the preliminary site works in the limited time frame. The strong relationships built with all parties ensured this preliminary site work were completed safely, delivered on time and within budget ensuring no delays to the refurbishment works.· Successful delivery of a major construction project. The Wickham Accommodation Expansion Project was completed with no major environmental incidents across the three year project timeline. This also included additional scope items such as modifications/upgrades to the local waste water treatment plant and assistance with approvals for wastewater discharge. Resolving unplanned site-specific issues to the satisfaction of the client/stakeholders was also a major factor in this role in particular dust impacts on local residents.
  • Golder
    Environmental Scientist/Field Operations Manager
    Golder 2006 - 2012
    Perth, Australia
Technical specialist in the management of contaminated sites assessments and management. I gained extensive experience on Barrow Island (BWI) being involved in the groundwater assessments including groundwater sampling, well installation, oil recovery system maintenance and related auditing/compliance work. I was also the field operations manager for contamination investigations and remediation activities (including installation of a Permeable Reactive Barrier (PRB) down gradient of site) at a former waste storage facility and diamond process facility in Perth. I was also field operations manager for various cultural heritage investigations in the north west of Australia for the Chevron DOMGAS Project. Key Achievements · Successful installation of Western Australia’s first PRB. Location and depth of the PRB were determined from years of previous site investigations completed. Flow directions and concentration levels of contaminants were also factored into the materials used for the PRB. Ensuring all environmental and cultural heritage aspects were understood and aligned with by the construction contractor was successfully completed with regular communication and progress meeting updates, along with inspections and audits. · Successful delivery of cultural heritage investigations which I coordinated in the northwest of Australia for the Chevron DOMGAS Project. This involved liaising with all stakeholders (including the client, Traditional Owners, property owners & contractors) to ensure site conditions and proposed work was understood by all parties prior to mobilisation. Logistics management, health and safety requirements and understanding of cultural differences were major factors in the successful completion of this work in the demanding time frame.
