I started my career as an accountant and immediately found my love of data. While still an accountant, I learned all I could about SQL databases and even started writing my own queries, rather than waiting on IT. I was then selected to help with the implementation of new software. I worked directly with company executives to completely transform the company's decision making. Management went from making day to day decisions based on their gut to having clear and concise reporting. This resulted in making decisions based on real data. Expenses reduced while revenue continued to grow. Meetings went from debating numbers to planning how to get ahead of the bad decisions.
