Global Leadership Role - Established a new data department accountable for Data Infrastructure Tooling, Data Engineering, Data Science and Machine Inventory DevOps teams. This was a fantastic learning experience building services utilising Fluent, Kafka, Influx and Hadoop technology. My role as a Global Leader involved spearheading the engineering efforts of the Winux Operating System, Infrastructure Tooling Portfolio DevOps, and Machine Inventory Software Development teams. With accountability for a diverse group of 140 engineering professionals, I prioritized their professional growth and career advancement. By collaborating closely with various engineering domains, architecture, and business lines, I established and maintained best practices, processes, and engineering standards. Across six globally dispersed engineering teams, I fostered a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation. Working closely with product owners and stakeholders, I ensured that engineering delivery schedules aligned seamlessly with the organization's priorities. Facilitating effective communication and collaboration among team members and across different teams was a key focus of mine. Additionally, I played a pivotal role in the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of top engineering talent from around the globe, which contributed significantly to the success of our projects. In this leadership capacity, I took great pride in ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of our programs and products. In this Global Leadership Role, I established an engineering department dedicated to setting standards, controlling patterns, and developing automation content for global utilization. By implementing global standardization measures for Linux and Windows build configuration and automation, my teams enhanced infrastructure for internal customers group-wide. My teams provided invaluable infrastructure patterns that seamlessly connected operating systems with x86 hardware and virtualization, enabling internal customers to deliver optimal business value. Additionally, I delivered an infrastructure tooling portfolio, encompassing standards and roadmaps that drove global standardization across the organization. With accountability for overseeing global tooling roll-out programs, I ensured the alignment of controls and audit findings. My responsibilities also encompassed multi-vendor relationship management, collaborating closely with suppliers and partners to achieve successful outcomes from RFP and ELA engagements, meeting stakeholder expectations consistently.
