I am the Managing Director of Willowtree Planning, a leading consultancy that provides proactive and integrated solutions for a wide range of planning and development projects nationwide. I have over 18 years of experience in the field, with credentials in statutory and strategic urban planning and related statutory proocesses for development projects including environment and risk assessment (CENVP + REAP), My expertise includes preparing and managing development applications, rezoning applications, due diligence advice, independent panel representation, and expert witness work in the Land and Environment Court of NSW. I have worked with ASX-listed companies, government authorities, and private developers, delivering projects with capital investment values ranging from $20 million to $1+ billion. Some of these projects have been recognised for industry excellence by the Property Council of Australia and the Urban Development Institute of Australia. I am also an active member of various industry groups, such as UDIA, PCA and The Urban Taskforce and former member of North Sydney Council's Independent Hearing & Assessment Panel. Division ManagerWhelans Insites 2008 - 2010I was a Senior Planner / Divisional Manager of the Urban Planning Division. I was responsible for undertaking a range of projects from Rezoning and Development Application preparation, management and coordination of projects and professional staff and Expert Witness appearances before the NSW Land & Environment Court. I was also responsible for preparing and managing feasibility studies, fee and time estimates and invoicing of work performed.In early 2009, I was successful in winning a significant contract with Bovis Lend Lease for Whelans InSites to be the lead Planning Consultant on the Building The Education Revolution Program. As Project Director, my role was to: • Manage and prepare some 125 applications to the Nation Building & Jobs Plan (NBJP) Taskforce and manage all sub consultants from Design Engineers through to Landscape Architects. • Manage the project from design through to completion and to advise our clients on the legislative framework surrounding the school sites approval process under the recently introduced Nation Building & Jobs Plan Act (NBJP) 2009. • Establish the NBJP application package, internal systems arrangements, staff resourcing and management, liaison and presentation to the Taskforce and monthly reporting on project portfolio status to the client including costing and programming.Prior to this and for the best part of 2008, I worked on secondment for Delfin Lend Lease at Ropes Crossing as a Consultant Project Manager / Planner.My primary role was to:• Working closely with the Development Managers and Project Directors to prepare 100-200 lot residential subdivision applications, new commercial building applications and closing out development consent conditions in order to obtain Construction and Subdivision Certificates. • The role also allowed me to gain exposure to titling and registration of titles prior to taking the product to the market
