I organized an interdisciplinary team to build an institutional-wide use case for the equipment, as well as developing high-throughput methods, training, and maintenance protocols so others could learn and use the equipment. The new tool increased the institute's workflow capacity by 100 times.- Leading a team of 6 scientists and managing several projects resulting in a significant breakthrough in self-assembly and DNA nanotechnology. We created the most complex DNA origami nanostructure demonstrated in the field, representing a ~16 times increase in synthetic capabilities. - Communicating and explaining complex scientific ideas in 19 presentations to external audiences, and writing two first-author Nature group publications and one patent.- Co-developing a methodology to make DNA-based vaccine delivery vehicles at an up to 80% lesser unit cost, which in turn enabled the therapeutic development team to do more preclinical testing from a finite budget.- Training and assisting several junior researchers to develop projects with realistic timelines and milestones. My involvement included helping them to scope out appropriate research questions, introducing them to unfamiliar techniques, troubleshooting experimental problems, and guiding them in writing and editing of publications. - Managing inventory, purchasing of reagents, and samples for a laboratory of 15 personnel. This required me to maintain and optimize system to monitor and order consumables as needed, as well as negotiating lower prices on products from suppliers. - Co-leading training and SOPs for transmission electron microscope equipment for staff at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. - Serving as the Lab Safety Officer, including handling preparation of radioactive reagents to maintain high facility safety standard.
