After graduating from Western Washington University, where I played football for the Vikings, I knew this was my calling. I've had the privilege of working at some of the best agencies in the country, collaborating with industry icons and leading world-renowned brands. However, my ultimate goal was always to lead my own agency. As someone who didn't see many faces like mine in agency leadership, I aspired to be the change I wanted to see.Career ExperienceIn 2008, I joined DNA from Publicis West, where I was Managing Director, overseeing accounts and new business development teams. Before Publicis, I held senior account management roles at top agencies such as Goodby, Silverstein & Partners, TBWA\Chiat\Day, Fallon, and DDB. I've led brand strategy and award-winning campaigns for iconic brands like Citi, E-Trade, General Electric, HP, Levi's, Miller Brewing, T-Mobile, and Starbucks.Leadership at DNAToday, in DNA's 25th year, I am Co-owner and CEO. As one of the only LGBTQ+ and Black-owned agencies in the country, we champion cognitive diversity in our teams and processes, driving creativity, innovation, and swift problem-solving. This strategic advantage results in better people, relationships, and client business outcomes.Community Involvement I am a dedicated DEI&B advocate, committed to creating equitable paths in the industry and education. I'm a founding board member of 600 & Rising, a non-profit advocating for Black employees in US advertising agencies, and a founding member and Board Chair for the BLAC (Building Leaders and Creators) Internship Program. In 2022, Washington State's Governor appointed me to the Board of Trustees at Western Washington University, and I serve as Vice Chair today.RecognitionI was named to the 2021 Campaign US 40 Over 40 and was part of the inaugural class of the ThinkNW All-Stars. However, my proudest moments include DNA being recognized as AdAge Small Agency of the Year and receiving an official proclamation from the city of Seattle for the Black Black Friday initiative.
