Functional testing within projects is completed using the agile/iterative methodology. I write and review test scripts within the test cycles and work very closely with Developers and Business Analysts. Defects are logged and tracked within Microsoft VSTS.I liaise with an external testing company to complete penetration testing on our web applications and services, this includes responsibility for setting up and maintaining the test environment. I complete an initial vulnerability test on the web applications using open source tools such as nmap, Webscarab and Burp suite and also some manual techniques. I complete performance testing on .net applications using a bespoke tool to capture and replay SOAP messages with added load. Web performance testing is completed using a variety of tools such as WAST (open source) and Visual Studio Test Edition. Also planning and creating automated regression tests using Seleium IDE.I manage and complete DDA Compliance testing using IBM Bobby and more recently SortSite, ensuring that the standards as set by W3C are achieved.

My key responsibilities were writing test plans and test scripts, completing bug reports within a tracking system and estimating test effort. Within the testing cycle I used TOAD to analyse data within the database. It was key to work closely with other disciplines such as development and analysis to ensure that full test coverage was achieved. Early testing was completed using the Waterfall method and then the V-Model.From my initial role I was able to prove myself as a valuable member of the test team and progress through promotions from tester to senior tester and then team lead.
