Chris Stace is a Retired (previously director at Lumoptica Limited). Colleagues describe him as "Having worked with Chris for many years at BAE I have seen at first hand his many skills. Sharing a common background in non-linear optics, Chris has gone on to specialise in fibre and free space optics and has become the principal simulation expert within the company for beam propagation and optical design. It is rare to find someone with accomplished theoretical and practical skills but Chris excels in both these areas. His approach is always well thought out and his subject knowledge is extremely broad. He is generous with both his time and experience and is always happy to help colleagues or students alike. He also generates many new ideas and patents as well as being able to trouble-shoot problems when they arise.
