YourSports is a social network for sports history where money/payments/bitcoin could flow through the network itself. It started from my dorm room with revenues generated by my first company, Pitching A to Z.Over a 10-year period--with a team spread throughout the world--powered by angel financing, we worked 100+ hour weeks and built the Hoover Dam of angel-funded internet projects: a social network with over 400,000 lines of code, 40,000,000 verified facts, and 1,000,000+ individual interest-based networks. We ran heavy experiments with Bitcoin not only as the programmable, API-based payments network but as the decentralized cloud computing platform for data to be represented by a private key. None of it worked; this isn't possible with Bitcoin. So, I left the sports space and the crypto space to pursue the understanding of public policy using data -- specifically structured and/or visualized data -- via Data4America. Imagine what the American economy would look like if high school and college athletes didn't have to go to school.. In the Dominican Republic, they don't. 100% of the players in the baseball academies don't sign a MLB contract but 100% do drop out. Since only ~2% sign contracts with MLB teams, 98% of the players go back to their towns and villages without an education. The cycle of poverty accelerates. ILB is trying to change this by making it possible for baseball and education to be 'played in the same day.' Today, ILB runs an an academy in Barahona, Dominican Republic where currently 31 young athletes go to school everyday while pursuing their dream of becoming Major League Baseball players. Baseball instruction company started as a school project in 2002. Became the foundation of my college education.Starting with $25 and one client on a rainy Seattle day, I built PitchSmarter into an intern-powered "Yahoo of baseball instruction" from a network of dorm rooms, coffee shops, libraries, and lecture halls. The company evolved from basic pitching lessons into producing its own product line of e-books & DVD's, to clinics with former major leaguers, to team fundraising, to an e-commerce retail store with 150+ products, to I Love Baseball, to streaming youth baseball games live online, and finally into YourSports.com--generating annual revenues of +$80k along the way.

As high school senior, elected to serve the 165,000 members of DECA as its national president (An association of marketing and entrepreneurship students). Deferred baseball scholarship at the University of Washington and traveled the country, serving DECA as both ambassador and its national student leader. An opportunity of a lifetime...Went on to play baseball at UW shortly thereafter, but after DECA had a new direction in life so I hung up the cleats and focused on school--which led me to building PitchSmarter.
