I'm a partner at Rare Bird, the specialist planning and strategy recruitment consultancy. Fifteen years of agency life, and more than half of that as a planner, has helped me appreciate the individuality of roles, businesses, and the people within them. I've learnt just how important it is to get that individual connection right; it’s only then that great things can happen.Working with clients, we partner directly with heads of strategy and management teams to get under the skin of each agency. To understand the vision, the culture, the work, the people and how they interact. Going well beyond just the specifics of the brief and the role itself, to understand what success will really mean.Working with candidates, we take the time to get to know them as a person, as well as a strategist. What drives and motivates them, their passions and aspirations, as well as their experiences and skills. Only by going to this depth can we determine the roles and the businesses they will thrive in.Our goal is to help both clients and candidates elevate the conversation from the outset; to reach decisions more swiftly, and with greater assuredness. Ultimately, that means businesses and strategists achieve more, and are happier for longer.
