New senior management role consolidating various IT and Technical functions within a new Digital team at GO. Responsible for the management of all the central TV and multimedia operations for GO plc. This includes digital TV over GO's DVB-T network, broadband streaming and mobile TV streaming. This with the help of a team of dedicated system engineers and technical officers who operate the headend and playout operations centre 24/7.

Research carried out in relation to multimedia systems possibly provided by telcos across various networks, in preparation for a rollout of the TV service offering by the company.

Occupied various positions including that of systems analyst and developer for a number of projects within the Maltacom group subsidiaries particularly those related to video and ADSL projects including the launch of TV pilot projects and ADSL pay-per-use services. I also held the post of I.T. Administrator for company systems as required from time to time and was responsible for the introduction and development of new software tools for the operation of the company. During my tenure at DataStream, and in view of the small team I was part of, I was exposed to a wide variety of technologies particularly related to communication networks as the company invested heavily in latest digital IP equipment during the surge of broadband access in Malta.

The variety of tasks gave me the opportunity to use various software development tools and to work in different project teams. Working at Crimsonwing gave the opportunity to work closely with international organisations and clients, and to be part of large teams with a variety of project related roles.

Short beginner's courses and support to customers were also delivered.

Duties included support of international banks overseas and the development of new functionality around the core business systems at RS/2.

Responsible for the Food and Beverage Stock Control System. Duties also included maintenance and other development for the Hotel Management System.

Employed for summer work to cover general software department duties. Aim was to familiarise myself with different software development related roles and tasks.
