Over a decade's leadership experience in social enterprise, sustainability, housing and urban regeneration, plus associated non-profit board experience. Chris has worked across private, public and profit for purpose sectors; prior to focusing on housing, social enterprise solutions and urban regeneration. Recent work has focused on housing policy, sustainability, stakeholder relations and public engagement around development and urban renewal. Now focused on a campaigning and policy role in housing, Chris has spent the last 20 years predominantly in social enterprises: managing social and community assets sustainably; delivering local services; and organising consultation and community engagement around mixed-use regeneration. He is also a trustee of two local charities. His career started in product management with an international transport engineering group, followed by marketing and business development roles in management education, telecoms and business information services, plus a stint in local government improvement and development for a national agency. With experience across marketing, strategic communications and enterprise strategy, Chris has particular expertise in the enterprising management of revenue-generating assets and in the communication of social impact messaging. Beyond these roles he has been a tutor at University of Westminster Business School and presented seminars to civil servants on social and community enterprise and regeneration for the UK government Dept of Business, Innovation & Skills; to members of the French government and civil service; and to local government study teams from Japan, South Korea and the Netherlands. He was a plenary speaker on opportunism and innovation in urban design at the 2012 International Urban Design Conference in Melbourne Australia and is a regular contributor to debates on policy and delivery.
