I organise the scouting and recruitment of players at Huddersfield Town (Primarily first team, but also assist in the Academy).I setup and manage a process for tracking information, including scouting reports, background information, statistics and decisions. This involves advanced tools such as R Studio, Tableau Prep, Tableau, Scout7 ISF and Statsbomb to provide in-depth information at scout's fingertips.I provide research and information to inform decision making surrounding player trading.Combine traditional scouting with video scouting, advanced statistics and background research.I manage our relationships with external companies such as Statsbomb, Wyscout, InStat and OptaPro.I am also managing the implementation of the SAP SportsOne system across the club, working with all departments and staff; including board members, heads of department and staff. I am configuring the system to suit our requirements and training staff. It's been a huge project, but very satisfying to see the product helping staff. I am also developing SAP Analytics Cloud dashboards; enabling key staff at the club to access data required to support decision-making.

I worked as a Cover Supervisor in a variety of schools through an agency, cover a wide range of subjects, but primarily maths and science.

Implemented systems to streamline the player recruitment process; managing a team of 10 part-time scouts to effectively make correct decisions for player transfer activity. Provided technical support and subject guidance to the Academy.Produce financial models and generate a weekly report for the Board.

Brighton

Created and maintained a financial model to manage first-team wage and transfer spending.Managed the women’s and girls’ football, player liaison and kit management departments, this consisted of leading six full-time staff, twenty part-time staff and over a hundred players through a process of huge change in the Club.I managed the first EPPP Academy Audit process at Brighton and Hove Albion. This involved managing the creation of a 1,700 page document of strategy, evidence and statistics, requiring input from fifty staff from part-time coaches to the Chairman. It led to our Academy being awarded Category 2 status, a huge turnaround from our previous status in only 6 months.Implemented many processes in the rapidly expanding Academy.Wrote all player contracts and transfer agreements at the Club.Change management – I setup many processes and systems to improve the professionalism and efficiency of a rapidly growing Football Operations department, which was two full-time staff when I started, and fifty by the time I left.

I worked on long-term measurement projects, alongside short-term activity to support the Player Recruitment Process.I setup many systems at Brighton to improve the professionalism and efficiency of a new Football Operations department. I utilised the fresh start at Brighton to improve the systems and processes I developed at Watford.

Following my internship I started a full-time gap year role at Watford FC. At the end of this year I stayed at Watford, working full-time, whilst finishing my final year studies.I had a large part to play in the day-to-day running of the Recruitment Department, developing and running a large database to track our games covered and player reports. This led to a formal Recruitment Process, which I managed along with other key staff at the club.This information, along with other data analysis projects, fed into a Weekly Report which supported the decision-making process for Recruitment of Players by the Chief Executive, First Team Manager and Head of Football Business.I also developed systems to track the finances due to our first team players (tracking bonuses and payrises) and systems to help the Academy, including a Player Audit Tool and a Website Bulletin Board to improve player/parent/club communication.I was also responsible for managing our contracts with external companies (Sky, Scout7 and ProZone) and for the Scout Training Programme.

Watford

During my second year at University I undertook a placement at Watford FC alongside my studies. The bulk of my time was spent developing a system for collating information on potential first team transfer targets. This involved generating templates for scouts to fill in and a spreadsheet to log the results. This information was rounded up with information gathered from internet sources such as Scout7 to generate profiles on signings for the manager.I reported mainly to the chief scout, but also to the first team manager. I mainly worked from home, attending the training ground one or two mornings a week to liaise with staff.
