For more than 20 years, she has created lively, one-of-a-kind clothing, accessories and paintings that have been featured in international publications, world-class museums and on A-list celebrities, including Madonna who wore one of Chris’s designs at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracaña Stadium in 1993.Born in Vitoria, Espirito Santo, Brazil, Chris began her career in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro.After moving to NYC, Chris held her first fashion show in 2000. The show led to a collaboration with the European hosiery brand Wolford for which Chris designed and hand painted an exclusive collection of clothing. In 2001, she exhibited a collection of hand-painted dresses in “Brazil: Body and Soul” at the Guggenheim Museum. The following year, Chris made a much-publicized dress out of chocolate, in partnership with legendary French chef François Payard, which was exhibited at the American Museum of Natural History. Chris’s clothing was also featured in the 2005 film “Hitch” starring Will Smith and Eva Mendes.During a four-year in Hawaii, Chris debuted her first collection of Brazilian bikinis and also performed with Cirque du Soleil in a multimedia show on the Big Island.Chris debuted her first line of textiles made in NYC in 2014, and donated her Art to Chuck Scarborough's Hampton event to support the Ellen Hermanson Foundation .Through her artistic philosophy “BEHUMANART,” which she coined, Chris connects elements from the environment and spirituality to reveal human beings as works of art. Vibrant and bursting with life, her paintings and designs reflect this soulful aesthetic and original point-of-view. Chris’s work has been featured in numerous publications, including Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan, Sportswear International, WET Magazine, The Village Voice, NY Daily News, The Brazilian Times and several others.
