I aim to help societies move into a sustainable future allowing for social growth while conserving the wild life and natural resources we have left. Following a career in Marine Biology as a fundamental researcher and then as a chief operation officer for a wave energy technology, I set out on my own and began building a sustainable education and retreat center in the Rockies of Colorado. The intent is to lead by example and show a new way forward in which community is paramount, human ecological foot prints are minimized, cost of living is substantially reduced and the surrounding area's ecology enhanced. First, that of Oceanography has taken me to Canada to earn a BS in marine biology followed by a MS from the University of Amsterdam in Oceanography and Limnology with a minor of business in science. Working with Unilever in Amsterdam to reduce food waste in supply chains, to studying ways of promoting coral recruitment to coral reefs in Curacao, to a thesis on studying ways to generate sustainable fish feed in aquaculture, I've continually worked towards using science to realize efficiency and sustainable living practices. My second investment of energy and education has been in the lines of fire fighting for over eight years in both urban and wildland settings. I have pursued emergency medical education and am currently certified as an Advanced EMT, spending three years working for emergency services on an ambulance in rural New Mexico, serving ~30,000 residence over 5,000 square miles.
