Even though ‘community resilience’ is yet far from the lips of most community councils in the UK, it is a unifying concept; a more tangible intention for an individual (or community) to aspire to when compared to the unfathomable climate change agendas of nations. Yet are we unified? Or, do we remain constrained by the notion that "more for you, means less for me"; a notion that relegates our empathy and that reinforces the idea that we are all separate entities trying to stay alive.As the effects of Climate Change begin to make themselves felt in the pleasant pastures of England; as we reflect back on the ravages of a pandemic that touched us all; and as we look ahead to what war in Europe might mean for us and for our children, surely we must find new ways to come together.I am dedicated to exploring ways to facilitate generative dialogue in community that overcomes barriers and that fosters resilience through a deeper capacity to share ideas and experiment.
