• Responsible for the enterprise-wide Health Claims Adjudication and Payment solution.
• Built-out the solution for deploying Medavie’s Admin and Claims application onto kubernetes.
• Provided developer mentorship for kubernetes adoption.
• Designed an iterative solution so we could roll out Claims Adjudication and Payment without a big-bang deployment.
• Provided direction and a roadmap for breaking apart Medavie’s existing monolithic Admin and Claims solution into smaller modules (not quite microservices just yet)
• Took a domain-first approach to the design of net-new microservices for integration with the Claims module.

• Provided design and direction for Medavie’s core Admin system.
• Modernized the software delivery process. “Getting the house in order” included:
• Introduced a consistent build process across the entire suite of apps (Maven).
• Introduced unit testing and made it part of the code review process (JUnit).
• Transition to Feature Driven Delivery (migrated from svn → git, mandated GitFlow)
• Transition from Waterfall to Agile development (requirements represented as Stories, tracked in JIRA. Features delivered in 2 week sprints).

• Modernized the Nova Scotia Medicare Admin and Claims system (MSI).
• Replaced the legacy solution with a more modern admin and claims solution.
• Every claim from every doctor in Nova Scotia now flows into this new solution.
• Designed a highly resilient solution that can easily deal with the load from an entire Provincial population.
• Led a team of 12 developers. Conducted interviews and made hiring decisions.
• Introduced new functionality in phases, with no downtime for the Provincial government.

• Achieved success as the team leader for a new disability claims management system. Responsible for a team of 3 developers.
• Worked with an offshore team to provide design for Medavie’s new Admin and Claims system.
