I'm an independent designer specializing in branding and graphic design.I've won awards and been sent to the Super Bowl.Over a crazy couple of weeks, I traveled from Dallas to NYC, LA, Orlando and Chicago.I've also spent late nights with printers for press checks in Omaha, Nebraska and Grand Prairie, Texas.I've lectured at SMU, TCU and Texas A&M Commerce. I've been a professor at the University of North Texas and the University of Texas at Arlington. In 2013 I left a job as a high-profile creative lead at a marketing agency to pursue branding and design on a more intimate scale. Using the strategies I employed for global and national brands, I wanted to work closer with clients and owners to streamline the creative process and make collaborative branding. Bottom line, I wanted to work WITH my clients to help them solve their problems and not be constrained by high blended rates and dedicated FTE's.For years I specialized in food and beverage marketing, working with clients like Pizza Hut, Pepsi, Frito Lay, Dr Pepper Brands, Bennigans, Dave and Busters, Red Lobster and Pie 5. I know my way around a mouth-watering photoshoot and I can name any new snack product you can think up. I spent my first years out of school honing my design process and learning how best to tackle both new projects and new clients. One thing I've become fairly adept at is taking a brand new client and streamlining the agency/client relationship to get great work while also being efficient. In my last "big agency" stint I focused more on building creative teams and managing those teams. I am always looking for ways to get the best work from creatives, developing talent and building teams with complementary talent. To me, success is achieved when creatives and account leads collaborate for great work that clients appreciate. Awards usually follow. Today, I do my best to keep a broad client roster with a mix of large and small brands. I enjoy switching gears from one industry to another and working with both local clients in person and collaborating with teams remotely. We live in a very connected world with friends and family scattered across the globe. I feel that "work" can have the same model.Specialties: Graphic Design | Branding | Creative Direction | Collaboration | New Product Development | Packaging | Leadership | Creative Management | Mentorship | Teaching | Developing Talent

Creative DirectorThe Marketing Arm 2007 - Jan 2011Dallas, Texas, UsThe Marketing Arm is an exciting place to work. As a company with 20 years experience in developing successful promotional ideas, they were tasked by one of their largest clients to build a creative department capable of collaborating on and executing concepts (in an environment where the concepts were already award-winning!) I was a part of that development. Leading the creative process for national brands while simultaneously working on a team to build a department from the ground up is a rewarding and challenging experience. My team developed 360 degree marketing campaigns from the ground up for Doritos and Cheetos. -
